Brainerd Elks Assist Wreaths For The Fallen

Brainerd Elks Assist Wreaths For The Fallen

News Release

Minnesota Veterans Cemetery at Camp Ripley Wreath Removal

Through donations and contributions the project acquires and placed thousands of wreaths this past year on December 13th. From 2006 to 2024 the total number of honor wreaths purchased and placed by WreathsForTheFallen.org was over 38,700 in all of the Minnesota State Veterans cemeteries; Little Falls, Preston, Duluth, Redwood Falls and Leach Lake Tribal.

On Saturday, January 31st, More than 20 Brainerd Elks went down to the cemetary and in chilly 15 degree weather removed the Christmas wreaths and helped with the clean up of the Veteran's Cemetery. As the saying goes, "More hands make for lighter work," they were able to complete the task in under 20 minutes.

Thank you to Jim Runberg for chairing this Brainerd Elks committee and to our volunteers and members for the support. If you would like to learn more about Wreaths for the Fallen they are online at www.wreathsforthefallen.org.

Next year look for an additional opportunity to assist in placing the wreaths in December as well.
