The Brainerd Elks and our Drug Awareness mascot Elroy made an appearance at the United Way Chili Cook off on Wednesday, October 15th at the NP Center in Brainerd. The event is the annual kick off of the United Way fund raising drive and our Brainerd Elks used this chance to support one of our favorite programs for youth literacy, the Imagination library. In the past we have participated in the Llama Llama Read-o-rama that did not happen in the summer of 2025. Thank you to Kim Cox, Jeremy Allord, Elroy (Amanda Allord), Tim Johnson and Carol Browne for being our chili team in the competition. A number of other Elks were participating at the event in their work booths and as the emcee of the event, but this crew here did us proud and they deserve and extra “Way To Go” for their work highlighting another one of the things that Elks Do in the Brainerd Lakes Area.
